Core Strategy Logic

The EA operates on the classic principle that when the PSAR dots flip position relative to the price, a trend reversal has occurred:

• Buy Signal: When a PSAR dot appears below the candle (transitioning from above to below).
• Sell Signal: When a PSAR dot appears above the candle (transitioning from below to above).
• Exit Logic: Most "Pro" versions allow for an automatic "Close on Reverse," meaning the EA will shut a Buy trade the moment a Sell signal appears, and vice versa.

Key Features of the "Pro" Version

Unlike basic PSAR scripts, the Pro v1.00 usually includes advanced risk management:

• Trend Filtering: Often includes a secondary filter like a Moving Average (EMA) or ADX. It will only take Buy signals if the price is above the EMA, helping to avoid "choppy" sideways markets.
• Trailing Stop: Automatically moves your Stop Loss to the latest PSAR dot, "locking in" profits as the trend progresses.
• Money Management: Options for fixed lot sizes or a percentage-based risk (e.g., risk 2% of account balance per trade).
• Session Filtering: Ability to restrict trading to specific times (e.g., only during the London or New York sessions).

Recommended Settings:

The PSAR EA is a precision instrument. It must be calibrated for the asset you are trading. A setup that works for the slow-moving EURGBP will destroy your account on the fast-moving Gold market.

Asset Class:

Tier 1 (The Perfect Match): XAUUSD (Gold). Gold is the ideal asset for the PSAR EA. It has “Heavy Momentum.” When Gold breaks a level, it runs. It rarely goes sideways for long. The PSAR logic thrives here.

Tier 2 (The Indices): US30, NAS100. These indices trend strongly during the US session.

Tier 3 (Forex Majors): GBPUSD, USDJPY. These pairs have enough volatility to make the strategy viable. Avoid: CHF pairs or low-volatility crosses.

Timeframe:

H1 (1 Hour): This is the sweet spot. It filters out the algorithmic noise of the M1/M5 charts but is fast enough to react to daily news cycles.

H4 (4 Hour): For “Set and Forget” swing trading. Expect fewer trades, but much larger profit targets.

M15 (Scalping): Only recommended for high-volatility sessions (London/NY Overlap) with aggressive “Step” settings.

Broker Requirements:

Account Type: ECN / Raw Spread. When this EA signals a flip, execution speed is critical. Wide spreads can delay the trigger or cause the stop loss to be hit prematurely by the Ask line.

Leverage: 1:100 or higher is sufficient.
